The journey begins...

Today is Monday April 10th 2023, and I received an email from Kitfox that the crate is schedule for pickup in the morning by Pilot Freight Services.

Pilot will be taking it to Lynden Transport's dock in Fife, WA near Tacoma.

Unfortunately Lynden runs barges for freight destined for Fairbanks every Tuesday...

And there's really no way I can expect the load to make it to Fife and get unloaded and processed before the 5pm cutoff tomorrow... so that means it won't leave Fife until barge C3174 on April 18th. It will then take 10 days to get to Fairbanks.

So, right now it looks like the earliest I can expect to receive the kit is April 28th. But hey! I finally have a date!

At 2:10pm ADST on April 11th 2023 I received that long awaited email from Heather at Kitfox. My kit has been picked up and is on it's way! ETA remains unchanged at this time. I expect it to arrive in Fairbanks on April 28th.

Well I don't know how this happened, but I'm not going to complain... Pilot Freight delivered the crates to Lynden's dock in Fife, WA at 4:38pm on Wednesday... and they left on a barge headed to Anchorage at 1:45am on Thursday!

Lynden's sailing schedule had a barge leaving last Monday, and the next isn't supposed to sail until next Tuesday. But hey! I'll take it!!!
