Re: My iPad doesn't fit!

So I got the new iPad Mini 6 mount in and got to work... I used the template I had 3D printed on the back of the panel to locate the 4 mounting holes, them moved it to the front to mark the panel cutout... IMG_2888.JPG IMG_2889.JPG I then used a cutoff disk in a grinder to make a rough opening... IM...

My iPad doesn't fit!

The best laid plans... can still fail horribly. While my iPad strictly speaking does fit on the panel... you can't see any of the switches when it's on there! IMG_2815.JPG So I had to go looking for another solution... try as I might there was no way to make a standard 10.9" iPad fit, so I will...

Remote avionics woes

So I thought the remote avionics tray came out great... but there's a problem. The main rack that holds the radios, audio panel, and VP-X Pro, is too far forward. The connectors on the front side of the VP-X protrude into the baggage area. The baggage area is just a sack, so it would still install O...

Elevator trim

I got the elevator trim wired and working, and also installed the trim position sensor and wired it up temporarily. I'm still waiting on the position sensor actuating lever to fully cure... it gets glued in place. Once that is done I can calibrate the sensor for the trim position display on the G3X....

AUX power and ELT

You can't have access to enough power ports nowadays. I have a USB A & C on the panel, and one on the center console. But I also have a 12V power port on the plates for the headphone jacks right behind each seat. I still need to run power wires for the passenger side power port, but the other 3 ...

Re: ADAHRS

Leveling and calibration... once I had everything mounted, I needed to go into the configuration and tell it how it was mounted... then I had to level the aircraft and run it through its calibration. Now everything reflects the actual attitude of the aircraft. Before this my displays were showing no...

ADAHRS

The A ir D ata A ttitude H eading R eference S ystem, or Garmin GSU 25C needs to be mounted very securely to the airframe, and it needs to be mounted +/- 1 degree either longitudinally or laterally. There is not a pre-determined location or mount for this. Midwest Panel Builders gave me a plate they...

Re: Panel & wiring

On my first attempt to power up the GNX 375 didn't come on... a little digging and I found a bent pin... got that straightened out and everything powered up fine.

Re: Panel & wiring

Working on securing the wiring in place... I made a bracket that goes between rudder pedal adjustment lever brackets, and started adding Adel clamps.
