This is where I will make periodic entries regarding the build progress of my kit. I will post photos, and discuss work completed or problems encountered.

Elevator trim

Post by MikeFairbanks »

I got the elevator trim wired and working, and also installed the trim position sensor and wired it up temporarily. I'm still waiting on the position sensor actuating lever to fully cure... it gets glued in place. Once that is done I can calibrate the sensor for the trim position display on the G3X.

I had to make some configuration changes in the VP-X to get the trim working, but it's nice and smooth now.

The glue application isn't the prettiest, but it's really hard to get to, and won't be seen once assembled. A few folks have had this lever come off, so I wanted to make sure it stays. I drilled a couple of holes in it before gluing so the glue would go through and around. Note: no holes were drilled into the stab tubing, just the sensor activating lever.
