Airplane trailer

From the beginning part of the decision process that led me to build a Kitfox was the ability to trailer the airplane. I want to be able to bring the airplane along when Bethe and I travel. To that end I commissioned a trailer through Custom Aircraft Trailers. Brandon Sorenson was great to work with, and while I haven't seen the trailer in person yet... I have received these great pics of the finished product. The trailer is what they call a wide body, meaning when the rear ramp is open the door opening is the full interior width. It is 26' on the floor with a 2' v-nose, and 8 1/2' tall. It has an 18" extended tongue allowing for sharper turning behind my RV, and a full walk on roof where I intend to install 3600 watts of solar panels to power the RV when we are off grid. The rear door/ramp in addition to providing a full interior width opening has no springs or cables... instead there is a winch mounted on the ceiling that you connect to a d-ring on the ramp to raise and lower it. This means there are no cables to get in the way when loading and unloading. I'm am going to try to figure out a way using some pulleys and another length of rope to use this same winch to load the Kitfox into the trailer.
